Radiohead Film Gets Release Date
March 10, 1999 Billboard Magazine
Radiohead's behind-the-scenes film, "Meeting People Is Easy," will premiere March 20 at the South By Southwest Music and Film Festival in Austin, Texas. The Capitol title will then make a four-city theater and college campus tour in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Chicago before its May 4 release on DVD and home video.

Filmmaker Grant Gee, who also directed Radiohead's "No Surprises" video, shadowed the act for almost a year for "Meeting People Is Easy." The documentary chronicles the activity around the release of the band's Grammy-winning album, "OK Computer," including the parade of promotional appearances, interviews, live performances, and occasional downtime that is life on the road. In addition to previously unseen live footage, the film also previews the beginnings of songs in progress.

Radiohead are currently working on the follow-up to "OK Computer," which was certified platinum in the U.S. (1 million copies shipped). No release date for the new album has been set.
