Lurgee
I feel better, I feel better now you've gone.
I got better, I got better, I got strong.
I feel better, I feel better now there's nothing wrong.
I got better, I got better, I got strong.
Tell me something, tell me something I don't know.
Tell me one thing, tell me one thing, and let it go.
I got something, I got something, heaven knows.
I got something, I got something, I don't know. |

In
this song about lost love, Thom sings that he is much better off without
the other person in his life. "Lurgee," unlike most other songs from
this period, found its way into the band's live set in 1998. One of
two songs recorded with Chris Hufford at Courtyard Studios, it was
selected for inclusion on Pablo Honey. The same version was used as
a B-side for "Creep."
It's pronounced 'L-er-gh-ee', and is an English slang name for a nasty
infectious disease. |
